Acceptor/Donor Phases The degree of generality observed with the Whelk-O 1 CSP has compared favorably with polysaccharide-derived CSPs. Due to the covalent nature of the Whelk-O 1, it is compatible with all commonly used mobile phases, including aqueous systems-a distinct advantage over polysaccharide-derived CSPs. Other advantages include long column life, durability, and the availability of both enantiomeric forms, for the convenient control of elution order. Many racemates exhibit superb resolutions in either the normal-phase or reversed-phase modes, although superior resolution is typically observed with normal-phase eluents.
