Precolumn Filters

One of the major factors contributing
to the short life of HPLC columns is particles being
deposited on the frit and top of the column. These
filters are designed for placement between the sample
injection valve and the HPLC column. The filter protects
the column from particles originating in the mobile
phase, pump seal wear, sample injection valve wear, or in
the sample.
Models A-315 & A-316
precolumn filters have .020" diameter thru-holes and
8° distribution cones for low band spreading and
mixing.
Model A-318 has a .010"
diameter thru hole and a removable stainless steel ring
that fits around the frit, making the frit easy to remove
and replace.Use this filter when you are concerned about
the maximum resolution and for microbore work.
A 0.5mm or 2mm frit is
available to stop particles before they reach the column.
The 0.5mm frit will stop bacteria and smaller wear
particles. The replaceable frits are stainless steel with
a PEEK ring. The inlet and outlet connections are
compatible with Upchurch, Swagelok, or Parker. All
materials are type 316 stainless steel and KEL-F.

Inline Solvent Filter

l Easy to replace Frits
Placed between the pump and sample
injection valve, our Inline Solvent Filter traps
particles released through normal piston seal wear.
Without an inline filter, these particles can be flushed
through the capillary tubing to the sample injection
valve, resulting in valve damage and further system
contamination. This filter uses a 2 mm stainless steel frit with a PEEK ring to
control contaminates before they reach the valve. An 8°
distribution cone spreads the flow of the mobile phase
over the entire surface of the .094" diameter x
.062" thick frit, while .050" diameter thru
holes provide good solvent flow. The inlet and outlet
connections are compatible with Upchurch, Swagelok, or
Parker.
All materials are type 316 stainless
steel and PEEK.

Titanium
Tubing

In certain
high-pressure applications, stainless steel must be
avoided and titanium tubing is an excellent alternative.
Our titanium tubing is carefully cut to ensure a square,
burr-free end. Since titanium is brittle, care should be
used in bending or tightening titanium tubing. In
addition, it is not recommended for use with strong acid
because of potential cracking.
